Bangor School Department Professional Development Days

Dear Bangor Families,

As we start the academic year, we would like to take a moment to share further information about our upcoming half-day staff development days included in our academic calendar, starting with the first date on September 17. These days are crucial for the continuous professional development of our educators and staff, allowing them to enhance their skills, collaborate with colleagues, and ultimately provide a higher quality of education for our students.

We believe that investing in our staff's growth directly benefits our students' learning experience. The workshops and training sessions scheduled on these half days will focus on innovative teaching strategies, curriculum development, and best practices in education. This commitment to professional development ensures that our educators are equipped with the latest tools and techniques to support our students' academic success.

We understand that half days can pose challenges for families regarding childcare. To assist, we have coordinated with local organizations such as the YMCA and our Parks and Recreation Department. They have graciously agreed to adjust their schedules to accommodate our staff development days, similar to their procedures during early dismissals due to weather. This will provide families with reliable options for childcare on these days.

We encourage you to take advantage of these resources and plan accordingly. Should you have any questions or need further information, please don’t hesitate to reach out. A copy of the school calendar can be found here: https://5il.co/253bd

Thank you for your understanding and support as we strive to enhance the educational experience for all our students.

Marie Robinson, Ph. D.
