The JFDS Team is excited to welcome Mrs. Darryl Loring as our Assistant Principal & Athletic Director. Mrs. Loring is returning to JFDS after a year at Bangor High School, where she served as Interim Assistant Principal.
Mrs. Loring has worked in education for seventeen years, including nine years in Bangor. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Education with a concentration in literature, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership.
Mrs. Loring shared the following thoughts on her return to JFDS:
“Hello Students and Families!
It is with great excitement that I write this introduction as the new Assistant Principal of the James F. Doughty School! I am truly honored to have the opportunity to work alongside a group of dedicated staff to support students in a safe and positive environment, as we navigate the Pathways to Excellence.
For the past 17 years, I have worked in the field of special education across a multitude of grades and in many different settings. My decision to become an administrator came from my desire to make a positive impact on an entire school community. I have been working for the Bangor School Department since 2013 and started as a teacher at JFDS in 2017.
I look forward to fostering the partnership between home, school, and the community. During the course of the year, it is my hope to work with students to get them more involved in the school community and what it has to offer students.
Go Bulldogs!”
