We are excited to announce that our school-wide novel for this winter will be Lifeboat 12 by Susan Hood. This is an incredible true story of a young man named Kenneth Sparks who was one of 90 children aboard the SS City of Benares when it was torpedoed by a German submarine as it was making its way from London to Canada. Susan Hood has written this story in free verse format making it accessible to all of our readers. The library will be hosting three after school events in January and February and the final culminating event will be our annual Dinner, Discussion and Author Skype evening where student readers may bring a guest.
Students are asked to fill out page two of the informational flyer in order to obtain a copy of the book from our library. Please contact Mrs. Patterson, Librarian, with any questions.
